Melanocyl Tablet

Melanocyl Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Methoxsalen 10 mg, primarily used in combination with UVA (ultraviolet A) light therapy (PUVA therapy) to treat vitiligo and psoriasis. It works by making the skin more responsive to UVA light, helping restore skin pigmentation in vitiligo and slowing the abnormal growth of skin cells in psoriasis.

Slows excessive skin cell growth associated with psoriasis.
Reduces skin discoloration, scaling, redness, and itching.
Enhances the effectiveness of medically supervised UVA phototherapy.

Take only as prescribed by your dermatologist.
Swallow the tablet whole with water.
Take it with or after food to improve absorption and reduce nausea.
It is usually taken about 2 hours before scheduled UVA light therapy, as directed by your doctor.
Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
Avoid unnecessary sun exposure after taking the medicine, and wear protective clothing and sunscreen because your skin becomes more sensitive to sunlight.
